About Sophie

Sophie, an Holistic Psychologist and Hygienic Health & Lifestyle Coach, specialises in hygienic ‘Living’ nutrition and Hygienic treatment of Mental Health imbalance in both adults and children. After facing a Health issue in her early teens that was dealt with naturally, she began studying human physiology and Health.  Her passion grew for natural & positive psychology which led to the completion of studies in this area. As she ran her Health Counselling practise, home birthed and home- educated her four children, life events inspired her to keep searching for answers through further studies in natural Health and healing. At 30 years of age, a debilitating illness (Ulcerative Colitis last stage)  threatened her life and despite diligently following the advice given by Naturopaths and  Environmental Doctors, her condition worsened. Knowing her life was at risk and determined not to leave her children without a mother, an interesting path of events led her to discover the teachings of Natural Hygiene. She saw that she needed to take full responsibility for her state of imbalance and applied the Hygienic principles to her life, with miraculous effect: “Within a month all the debilitating pain and bleeding had stopped, and after one year I felt stronger and lighter than I’d ever felt before, with all symptoms gone!” Thus began her formal study of Natural Hygiene. 
Using this knowledge of the body’s requirements for “Health”, paired with her knowledge of psychological processes and their link with our physical state, she now lives her passion for Natural Health completely through her company VITAL HEALTH, with Co-creator, Alessandro Berenato. Together, with over 40 years of combined experience with mind and body, they teach and guide those who are looking for an “Alternative” to Medicine, not Alternative Medicine.

I am an active person who loves adventures, experiencing other cultures and living life to the full. I love gardening and growing food, creating nourishing whole-food meals for my family and am excited by the human being’s capacity to learn, heal and grow.  So I am always reading and constantly learning.  I adore my four active children, aged from 10 years to 25 years and am so grateful for the gifts they have been in my life and the journey that raising them has taken me on.  My deep connection with Nature and the ocean led me to move to the Byron Bay region with my partner, Alessandro, where we have created a healthy lifestyle where we can live our passion and mission to help and educate people in Natural Health and Performance, locally and around the world with our Natural Health & Performance programs.

My role is to release the physical, emotional and/or mental blockages that are holding you back from healing or performing at your best and showing you how to give your body all the conditions it needs for true natural health and peak performance.  I will work with you to solve your health or performance issues by identifying the root causes and breaking down your path to recovery, step by step so that you achieve your goals and also sustain them.  I will meet you where you are at and will provide all the support, guidance and personalised care that you need to heal and perform at your best and I will empower you through education so that you can take control of your health and live a long and independent life.  My job is to help you understand the language of your body so that you can move forward in your life with confidence and independence and true health freedom.

I have come to learn that by following natural law and providing the necessary conditions for Health and removing the root cause, the body’s own innate wisdom will restore Health very efficiently. Our body ‘speaks’ to us every day and when we understand its language, we can know what to give it each day for its needs.  It’s a dynamic relationship that we need to develop with it and this leads to true, sustainable health and longevity. I also believe that health is true freedom and performance is a byproduct of true natural health because when our body and mind are in alignment, and our vitality is high, we function at our best and can see that the body is capable of so much more than we can ever imagine.  Movement becomes fluid and easy and pain and tightness disappear.  When we move with intention and clarity, strength, speed, and energy follow as a natural consequence and the whole body works as one.

At age 15 I began my own studies in natural health, learning from the great Paul C. Bragg and after studying Anthropology, Philosophy and Psychology, majoring in Infancy/child psychology and Adult Relationships at University, I began my career working in the ABA program with children on the Autism Spectrum.  I witnessed so many incomplete and incorrect psychological diagnoses in my work with children and adults over the years that I saw the need for an holistic health approach to achieve the results people needed to end their suffering.  So after having my first two children, I began studies in Naturopathy.  Further unanswered questions that I had, led me to the teachings of Natural Hygiene, Health science.  After completing my internship at the Australian Institute for Natural Hygiene under the directorship of Dr John Fielder, I created my own healing protocol that combined Natural Hygiene with the principles of Holistic Psychology and now practice ‘hygienic psychology’ in my Natural Health & Performance programs with my partner, Alessandro, achieving ground breaking results.

Something Special No-one Knows About Sophie

I have four beautiful children and I birthed them all at home on my permaculture farm in the mountains of the Northern Rivers of NSW. I also LOVE to dance to Latin music and since losing my home and farm in the 2019 NSW bush fires, I believe that living life with passion and in optimal health is a must because life is so precious!
