It’s about committing to doing the small things that you say you’re going to do and treating yourself like the best friend that you are obligated to help. It’s more than a commitment, it’s a contract to yourself that, when performed consistently, can yield one of the most powerful forces on earth … discipline. It all starts with keeping the promises you make to yourself. It’s so funny that, we as humans, are more inclined to keep an appointment with a stranger, like a new doctor or personal trainer, than honour what we intend on doing for ourselves.
It starts with owning the day. Respect yourself by not pressing snooze. Do that walk you said you were going to do. Attend that event you said you were going to attend. Eat that salad you said you were going to eat. The internal dialogue counts just as much as the spoken word.
